‘Open Envelopes’ is a written journey taken on by two best friends- Lata and Maya.
The only way to describe who Lata and Maya are is to state what we do: we believe.
We believe in dreams. In hopes. In being honest about ourselves. In our faults and in our glories.
We believe in each other.
This is not so much a blog as a forum for us to think things through, and figure out ways that add value to our lives. Like most friends, we are startlingly similar in certain ways, drastically different in others. Like most friends, we are also honest with each other about our flaws, vulnerabilities and our points of vanity. Since we now live across the continent from each other, we do our fair share of quick one-line emails, hours of “girl-talk” phone sessions and meeting up every so often for a girls’ weekend of manicures, shopping, lunches and gossip. But sometimes, written words are the only way to capture the essence of what we mean to say, of what we need to say.
As best friends, we communicate on a daily basis.
As letter writers, we get a chance to confess.
